Norway 2008

Those who have expressed an interest so far; Me, Ian, Tim, Giles and Nigel. Am sure one or two will drop out and if you want to come, get in touch.

The Sjoa festival dates are not yet out. However, it is looking like 23-27th July 2008. So based on that i suggest the following dates for the trip.

Monday 21st July - Thursday 31st July 2008. That is, getting the ferry from Newcastle at 15:00hrs arriving the next day at 18:00hrs. Getting to the camp site early doors on Wednesday 23rd.

Leaving Thursday 31st from Bergen at 08:00hrs arriving UK Friday 10:30hrs.

Costs, so far, based on six people and 2 cars (three folks per each car).

Ferry for 2 cars, 6 people and three cabins... £1,763

Accommodation, hut type...............................£657 (based on a lodge at the site below for nine nights at 800 kroner)

Fuel .................................................................£500 (a shot in the dark, probably way off, for both cars)

Norway, a map of the area where we are going. This one here gets my vote. Its "Jotunheimen FerieSenter" top left of the map at the blue 147. A choice of tents or cabins. I'll look into the camp site more and get details.
