Scottish Boater Cross

Preliminary plans are under way in bringing a Boater Cross - Scottish Cup to fruition.  The competition will be held on the dammed rivers.  The Tummel is looking to be a favourite place to hold it / them.

Keep looking in for more information here.

Sweet Wanderer

Sweet have a new helmet, all buffed up and ready to rock (no more) for the new 2009 season.

The Wanderer...Sweet Wanderer

The design is retro skate inspired…

Sweet RamblerThe Rambler TE, for snow, seen here, looks very like it. Admittedly the Wanderer is taken from another design. Fret not, there is a built in beak, specially designed for white water. Although what part of the special feature plays in white water will still have to be assessed. Keeping the glaring sun out of the professional eyes or for those annoying water droplets from dripping. Does the beak have a function? Time will tell.
The ventilation cuts will do well and drain water (I’m sure they mentioned something like that for the snow).

However, the choice of colours does perplex me at times. Why do manufacturers not have striking colours, especially on their helmets? For Scotland, the choices of dirt black and olive grey wouldn’t be a starter for me. I like to see and be seen. More so on murky overcast days. Expect to pay more for the ear pads.

Bright Red, Olive Grey, Gloss White and Dirt Black.

The range

Out with the old and in with the new, the Rocker half cut looks like it is being bumped for the Wanderer. Doesn’t make sense to me. It’s like binning the Nomad and replacing it with another creeker. It works, leave it alone.

My comments are just that, the paying public and fashion wannabes will decide if the Wanderer has a place on the protection list for helmets.
